The Robert Sobukwe Nursing Academy (RSNA) recently hosted a very successful graduation ceremony at the Dr GJ Joubert Primary School in Strand.
Diplomas in Home Base Care and Health Care Assistance were awarded to 125 students.
The RSNA Helderberg Campus is still growing and students have shown seriousness and commitment towards obtaining a qualification to make them employable.
“Our objective is to create employment for unemployed youth in the Helderberg community. We are so far successful in our objective and have reached a 60 plus percentage of students obtaining job opportunities. We are glad that we can open up doors for our battling community,” said Shakoor Vallie, who is part of the driving force behind the project.
“Since we opened our doors a year ago, we are grateful that we have served more than 200 students and would like the numbers to increase in our second year. The RSNA is also pushing for more skills programmes to be offered soon.”
