The Root44 parkrun at Audacia Estate successfully concluded on Saturday 26 July with organisers praising volunteers and partners while highlighting the course’s diverse terrain featuring muddy sections, hills, flat roads, and vineyard views.
The popular event has since temporarily closed pending permit renewal approval from Stellenbosch Municipality.
“A big ‘thank you’ to our volunteers and the folks of the market, Audacia Estate and Stellenbosch Municipality – from the first event, but especially for the last six wonderful months. The course we are using at the moment is possibly the best version of Root44, it works so well as we have the muddy bit, the hilly stretch, the flat road, the vineyards – not to mention the view. We are blessed,” organisers wrote on the event’s Facebook page.
The popular run has since closed, pending its permit application approval from Stellenbosch Municipality.
“We will let everybody know as soon as we get our permit renewal. Hold thumbs [the approval is] soon.”
