The catchment, stormwater and river management department of the City of Cape Town will host a public meeting at Strand Town Hall on Thursday 15 February.

The meeting is scheduled to take place from 18:00 to 20:00 at the hall, on the corner of Main Road and Fagan Street. Deatils of the various flood-alleviation measures that will be constructed along the Lourens River between Beach Road, Strand, and Meadow Lane, Somerset West, will be presented. The construction programme began in November last year and will continue until the fourth quarter of 2025.

People attending this meeting will be given a description of the various flood-alleviation measures to be constructed, their exact location and the dates when construction will take place.

The community is cordially invited to this public meeting, and will be given an opportunity to ask questions and provide commentary.
