Mieke Carr, a company dancer at Rhapsody Dance Centre in Strand, returned from the World Championships of Performing Arts, held in Los Angeles, USA, with seven gold medals. The talented dancer showed off her skills in the 11-to-12-years age category, competing in the ballet, contemporary, hip-hop, jazz, lyrical, musical theatre and open styles. Mieke was also invited to perform at the gala event, where she was awarded her medals and crowned seven-time division champion of the world. This means she scored the highest points in each of the divisions for dancers 15 years and younger, a feat her coaches and choreographers, Antoinette de Villiers and Marcus Mabie, are extremely proud of.Foto:
