Parel Vallei High School honoured its top athletes during an assembly last week.
Although the athletics season took on a different format this year, the school managed to hold its annual interhouse competition, where the athletes of Stella, Aberdeen and Nassau battled it out on the track and field.
A total of 15 new records were set during the meeting, including two records set before, in 1992.
In the end Stella walked away with the Athletics Trophy, gleaning 1 285 points, followed by Aberdeen (1 147) and Nassau (1 068).
Stella also won the coveted Spirit Cup, with Nassau as the runner-up and Aberdeen coming in third.
Records were set by Jamial Johnson (boys under-14; four records), Marietjie Cilliers (girls under-17; two records), Lanah Nel (girls under-19; two records), Tihanna le Roux (girls under-14; two records), Tomilee Haupt (girls under-14; one record), Lizaan Slabbert (girls under-15; one record), Zunday Keyser (boys under-14; one record), Christopher Gouws (boys under-17, one record), and Garth Yon (boys under-19; one record.
