Try these immune booster drinks and shots, which have a combination of all the right ingredients to keep your immune system strong during the winter months.


All-you-need green smoothie

Try this mean green smoothie with all the health benefits you need for a morning boost! Spinach is a good source of iron and magnesium, while parsley is a good anti-oxidant, and ginger is an anti-inflammatory agent.

Ingredients:

  • 250g spinach or baby spinach
  • 2 green apples
  • A handful Italian parsley
  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 60 ml (¼ cup) raw almonds
  • 2-3 cm ginger
  • 15 ml (1 tbsp) Nature’s Choice Green Superfood Smoothie Mix (*optional)
  • Juice of 2 limes
  • Celery stick, to garnish
  • Parsley, to garnish

Method: Combine all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth, pour into your glasses and garnish with celery sticks and parsley.

Homemade health tea

Citrus and turmeric make this home-brewed green tea perfect to detox, and healthy for your gut.

Ingredients:

  • 500 ml water
  • 15 ml (1 tbsp) apple cider vinegar
  • 15 ml (1 tbsp) honey (replace with maple/agave syrup if vegan)
  • Juice of 1-2 oranges
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 3-4 cm fresh ginger, peeled and sliced
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 125 ml (½ cup) pomegranate rubies
  • 5 ml (1 tsp) turmeric
  • 2.5 ml (½ tsp) baobab powder
  • 4 green teabags

Method: Combine all the ingredients into a saucepan and allow to simmer for about 10 minutes. Strain and serve warm.

Turmeric Shot

  • 1 pineapple, cubed
  • Zest and juice of 1 lemon
  • 15 ml (1 tbsp) turmeric powder

  • 10 cm ginger root
  • 3 beetroots, leaves and bulb
  • 250 ml (1 cup) water
