It’s been a busy month for False Bay Ring Contact Fighting Arts (RCFA), who awarded certificates to the their graded students and hosted the second RCFA Battle of False Bay Championships which took place at Hottentots Holland High School on Saturday 7 October.

Altogether 13 RCFA clubs from all around the Western Cape participated at the championships which consisted of various divisions and age groups.

According to the organiser, Shihan Gert Kotzee of False Bay RCFA, the club with the most students that entered was State of Flow RCFA club in Stellenbosch and the club with the most divisions entered was Tricore MMA club in Kraaifontein.

“There were a number of winners in all categories and the level of skill and talent on display proves that this event is getting more competitive and reaching a wider audience, which is really pleasing to see,” said Kotzee. “We want to thank all our sponsors and supporter members for making this event possible. Without them we could not have done it.”

The championship event was live streamed on YouTube and can be still be viewed on he Youtube channel Ring Contact Fighting Arts – Battle of False Bay.

Francois Nel obtained 1st in semi–contact, 1st in Nunchaku fighting, 2nd in baton fighting and 3rd in series.
