PV cyclists claim top spot among province’s schools

The cycling team of Parel Vallei High School finished the season on a high, claiming the top spot in the Western Cape Schools’ Cycling League. Team PV was 2 000 points clear of second-placed Paul Roos Gymnasium and more than 5 000 ahead of the next co-ed school, Hoërskool DF Malan. Eleven PV learners have also been selected to represent the school at the Schools XCO Nationals in Gauteng. They are Max Vermaak, Gerhard Kruger, Zander Compion, Christiaan Davel, Connor Hume, James Card, Angeliq Coetzer, Elmarie Smit, Linel Kruger, Karli Erasmus and Isabella Duvenage. Furthermore, Max, Gerhard, Karli, Elmarie and Angeliq have also been included in the Western Cape team. The school thanked the cycling team’s sponsors – Nettari/Instabeans, Decking Solutions and The Hanger Bike Co – for their unwavering support throughout the season.
