The Helderberg Tug of War Club celebrated two of its teams obtaining their Western Province colours on Saturday 24 February at the annual WP/Winelands Tug-of-War Championships. There were 180 teams present. The high-schoolers, who participated under the banner of Strand High School, competed in the 520 kg mixed-team category, where they won a gold medal and their provincial colours, while the primary-schoolers, in the 280 kg category, won bronze and their colours. The two teams are going to the South African Junior Tug-of-War Championships in Kimberley from Thursday 14 to Saturday 16 March.
