Strand Surf Lifesaving Club restarts its weekly nippers training sessions, following the festive season break, this Sunday (16 January) at 09:30.

Nippers are primary school children aged eight to 14, who wish to become junior lifeguards and serve the community when they move to high school. There is also micro nippers training for children aged four to seven.

Any newcomers are welcome to join the training sessions, which is a whole lot of fun, while youths also learn how to handle themselves properly in all sea conditions – a life skill that few parents are able to teach their children.

The micro nippers train for an hour every Sunday, while the nippers train for two hours. Those interested in finding out more about nippers are also welcome to attend the training season at Strand Beach this Sunday.
