Trail runners in the Western Cape ready to tackle some of the toughest trails in the province early this year, can now sign up for the Thirsti AfricanX Trailrun 3-Day Stage Race.
The much-anticipated event will return to the Houw Hoek Hotel outside Grabouw in March, when it celebrates its 12th anniversary.
Trail runners can diarise Saturday 19 to Monday 21 March for the country’s premier three-day stage event, which is synonymous with magnificent trails, spectacular views, mouth-watering food, a relaxed atmosphere, great vibe and teamwork.
Teams of two trail runners (men, women or mixed) will battle it out on a route varying in distances each day – about 24 km (stage 1), 32 km (stage 2) and 18 km (stage 3). Each stage will feature a different route that is guaranteed to keep things challenging, yet exciting while leaving runners in awe.
Runners can choose from three entry options ranging from R3 600 to R4 600 per runner, and the fee includes a First Ascent AfricanX garment, finisher T-shirt and medal, the Thirsti Refreshment Zone, well stocked water points and spectacular route experiences. There will also be an evening prize-giving and entertainment at the race village at the hotel.
V Entries close on Friday 11 March. For additional information or to enter, visit www.stillwatersports.com.
