Somerset West police are urging the public to come forward if they witnessed an accident that occurred Tuesday (21 February).
Sergeant Suzan Jantjies, spokesperson of the Somerset West police, confirmed a traffic officer had responded to the accident scene, at the circle on corner of Lourensford and Mountain roads in Somerset West at 16:25.
“According to the motorcyclist he was busy exiting the circle when a silver Volkswagen Jetta drove in front of him, and this caused the accident,” she said. “But according to the driver of the VW Jetta it was the other way round; the motorcyclist had driven in front of him when the accident occurred.”
The motorcyclist sustained minor injuries while no injuries were reported by the driver of the VW Jetta.
Somerset West police confirmed an accident report had been opened.
Jantjies is requesting the public contact the Somerset West Police Station on 021 850 1325 if they witnessed the accident.
