Generation Schools Somerset West held an information evening hosted by Generation Schools founder Jevron Epstein on Thursday 4 November.

The event aimed to provide more information about qualifications offered at the school, the course expectations, and enrolment. A Q&A session for interested learners and parents was also facilitated.

The evening further announced that Generation Schools will offer a multitude of school exiting qualifications – ranging from Further Education and Training Qualifications (FET) to International Access Qualifications – next year. These are housed within the Generation Schools Sí pathway.

The Somerset West campus will continue to offer the Independent Examination Board (IEB) curriculum for Grades 7 to 12 in addition to this new venture.

The Sí pathway qualifications provide access to higher education through South African institutions and a range of European and United Kingdom universities.

The IEB National Senior Certificate is recognised by more than 132 international universities across Europe, the United States and Canada.

“Generation Schools believes that the purpose of higher education should not only be focused on academic acquisition but also on equipping a student with business acumen and readiness to prepare them for a real working environment,” a statement from the school read. “Our Junior to Giant mentorship programme bridges the theory of education with the reality of profession – the catalyst to our Sí grouping of curricula.”
