It’s the home straight for all rugby clubs in the Helderberg, irrespective of their log positions.

In Super League B, Berge are in the semi-finals, while the Lulus and Saints should secure quarter-final spots this week. In Super League C, Strand RFC are already ion in the semi-finals, while the MC Boys will look to secure a place in the quarters as they travel to United’s Kraal in Strand.

Raithby are virtually relegated, unless they manage to pick up maximum points in their last league match.

St George’s vs Goodwood – Goodwood

The Lulus remain unbeaten for the last three months and Goodwood will have no chance of stopping them. Maximum points on Saturday could even set them up for a secured semi final spot. Goodwood have had a disastrous season and are yet to pick up a win.

)

All Saints vs Young Peoples – Helderzicht

Saints had a perfectly timed week off and could regroup for this important encounter. The hosts have had an awesome season and are one win away from securing their goal of a home quarter-final. Peoples could feel they have a realistic chance, but I doubt it.

)

Helderberg vs Langa – Charles Morkel

Berge are 80 minutes away from achieving a really respecte milestone of being unbeaten in the league phase of Super League B. Langa are generally physical and skilled, but it will be difficult for them to conquer Fort Morkel this week.

Strand United vs Macassar – Abattoir

United had a match against Elsies River yesterday (Tuesday 9 August). Despite the result, though, their situation is precarious. On Saturday, there’s plenty at stake for both teams at opposite ends of the log table. The MC Boys are a well-drilled outfit, but going to the Kraal is never easy. United are a better team than their log position suggests, but that counts for nothing now. Macassar also played a match against Rangers yesterday. This match is the final league derby in the Helderberg before possible play-off duels.

Raithby Universals vs Rangers – Surrey Estate

RU have run out of opportunities to better their log position and could, mathematically, be overtaken by two or three clubs before the season ends. Any small chance depends on maximum points against a Rangers team playing their third match in seven days.
