The City of Cape Town has announced a planned electricity-supply interruption in the Gordon’s Bay area for essential Eskom infrastructure maintenance scheduled for Wednesday 16 July, from 07:40 to 17:00, lasting about nine hours and 20 minutes.
Only the specific area shown on the official outage map will experience the power interruption (refer to the detailed outage map below).
The electricity supply could be restored at any time during the maintenance window, so residents must treat all electrical installations as live for the full duration of the planned work. As a precautionary measure, residents are encouraged to switch off appliances to avoid damage from power surges when the electricity returns.
