Locals from the Helderberg and its surrounds descended on the picturesque Lourensford Estate in Somerset West, where Saturday (4 March) was kick-started fresh amid the vineyards with families enjoying a fun-filled day picking grapes.
The offering forms part of the popular Lourensford Market’s introductory Thrift Saturdays, which incorporates thrift vendors into the usual mix. The Hanepoot picking adventure took place from 07:00 to 15:00 yesterday (Saturday) and returns for further fruit-picking delight today (Sunday). Families and friends are welcome to pick their own helping of the Hanepoot harvest for R26/kg. No booking required and no entry fee. There will also be tractor rides, fruit sales, pancakes, food stalls and kiddies entertainment and simply all-round fun for the whole family!
