Cindy Schmitz (43), who was formerly homeless for over two years and lived on the streets between Strand and Somerset West, thanked her sponsors for helping her get on her feet again as she now works, and no longer lives on the streets. The “Thank You” event was held on Thursday 25 January at Hebrews Coffee Shop in Strand, a business that helped Schmitz and many others in her shoes over several years. She baked pancakes for the sponsors, who also enjoyed coffee while she told her life story. It evoked emotions among guests, who were very impressed with the turnaround, and all attributed the success story to God’s grace.Photos: Yaseen Gaffar
