The Year 10 class of the Helderberg International School shared its experiences of the Year 10 Journey, which it completed just before the nationwide lockdown during an online assembly of the school’s high school during May. Said teacher Terena van Zyl: “The hills are alive with the sound of triumph! Before the world was taken hostage by the coronavirus and we were cuffed to our screens, our Year 10 kearners experienced, first-hand, the beauty, magnificence and freedom of mountains, hills, beaches, rivers and lagoons of our blessed corner in the Western Cape. The journey has become a household name at the Helderberg International School for an experience, a personal invitation to victory, which each Year 10 class looks forward to with mixed feelings, because the journey is an event that challenges students in their five areas of human development: physical, mental, emotional, social and spiritual.”Foto:
