Macassar police’s Youth Desk, in conjunction with the Metro Police K9-unit and Blue Downs Uniting Congregational Church in Eerste River, held a youth awareness campaign in Macassar on Freedom Day (Wednesday 27 April). According to Macassar police spokesperson Sergeant Desire Adendolf, participants took to the streets distributing informative pamphlets while the church’s boys’ brigade enthralled community members with their musical tunes. Adendolf extended a warm “thank you” to everyone who contributed to the initiative’s success. “A special thank you to Superintendent Karen Ferus of the Metro K9-unit and Captain JR Robertson who lead the boys’ brigade beautifully.”
