Congratulations to Gordon’s Bay Pioneers with their massive win over Bishop Lavis as well as to Strand for their first derby win this season.

This week sees the return to action for Strand United in what is virtually a full-house of fixtures for clubs from the Helderberg.

) St George’s vs Vineyards (Gustrouw)

The Lulus have some work to do to catch up with the early log leaders, and they’d want to get their first home win of the season. Vineyards come off a good win over Langa and will believe they can target the under achieving hosts.

) All Saints vs Bellville (Bellville South)

Saints thumped Franschhoek at the weekend and will need to take that confidence into this tricky fixture. Bellville are tough at home, but I’m sure they wouldn’t dare undermine the visitors.

) Macassar vs CPUT (Riverside)

The MC Boys are facing their toughest test this season. CPUT are determined to gain promotion and will know the quality of their opposition. Macassar can pull off a famous win.

) Strand vs Blue Jets (Khayelitsha)

“Hou by die Blou” irrespective of who you support in this match. Strand should continue their winning run; only over confidence can beat them now.

) Strand United vs Kylemore (Abbattoir)

United come into this match a bit under done after not having the greatest preseason followed by a six-week Ramadan break. Kylemore will see this as an opportunity to take maximum points.

) Raithby vs Elsies River (Elsies)

Both teams are struggling, but I feel RU could sneak this one. The visitors’ more skilful play should come into effect this week.

) Sir Lowrians vs Manenberg Rangers (SLP)

This fixture has a history of being fiery and aggressive. Sir Low would want the win, but Rangers come off a great away win over Excelsior.

) Gordon’s Bay Pioneers vs Silverleaf (Elsies)

GB Pioneers should continue their winning run and remain in the running for league honours.
