Haval, started 10 years ago by Great Wall Motors, is China’s No 1 SUV brand and going places both internationally and locally. In fact, Haval Helderberg is going places too, having moved their new car sales and servicing operation in the Helderberg from 137 Main Road to 274 Main Road on the corner of the N2 and Main Road in mid-May.
The original site was opened in 2019 and will serve as the pre-owned sales floor.
The large and bright new location was custom built to be a turnkey motoring sales and service centre by one of the big brands and allows Haval and GWM to expand their sales, parts and service offering to the Helderberg under the able management of Donovan Gamanie and Paul Daniels. This medium-sized dealership wants to expand, with your help, to be a leading larger/mega dealership, which they can in the space and with the facilities they now have.
Speaking of service. Very shortly a vida e caffè will be opening inside the dealership, the first of many initiatives to offer a real full service vehicle and fleet hub. Watch this space.
The vehicle service department is becoming a full service shop with in-house wheel balancing and alignment, electric car support (in the not too distant future), valet service using re-cycled water, repairs and servicing. This will be backed-up by a much enlarged parts operation both here and at the national parts distribution centre which has just moved into a four times larger building. The new service centre has 20 bays.
Eight dedicated sales professionals will work from the two Haval premises in Strand.
The used car sales team will operate from the original location at 137 Main Road and will also buy in stock as well as offering trade-ins.
The new car team at 274 Main Road are kept busy with the C-segment Jolion and the bigger D-Segment H6 and H6 GT in the SUV market, while two sizes of bakkie are on offer, the smaller Steed and the big P-Series range which has just been expended with a top model the LTD or limited lifestyle edition, a real professional offroader.
In the near future two new sub-brands will be added. Tank is the new rough and tough 4×4 offroad range while the HEV (new energy) brand will be ORA. There will be big announcements quite soon.
All four brands will be housed at 247 Main Road, which is set to be a community-focused centre. With the phenomenal local growth and becoming part of the community the Haval team has become more involved with local projects and will expand their CSI presence in the basin.
Fleet solutions will be a prime focus of Haval/GWM Helderberg in future. In addition to the leasing/financing aspects the team will advise on branding and fitments, maintenance options and vehicle selection as well as the execution of the additions or changes.
Come and check out Haval’s new home next to the N2 on Main Road. The team, most of whom are from the Helderberg, are ready to show you around.
