The Somerset West police are investigating a case of distribution of pornography, crimen injuria and harassment against a 45-year-old man from Mitchell’s Plain who allegedly harassed a local woman.
According to Somerset West police spokesperson Sergeant Suzan Jantjies, the suspect allegedly sent several pornographic videos and flirtatious messages to the victim, who reported the matter to the police.
The suspect was arrested on Friday 13 October after authorities pounced on his residence and confiscated his computer and cellphone.
The suspect briefly appeared in the Somerset West Magistrates’ Court on the day of his arrest and again on Tuesday 24 October for a bail application, which he abandoned.
The suspect remains in custody until his next expected court appearance scheduled for Friday 24 November.
