Meet the members of the Church Street Methodist church community’s Young Women’s Fellowship.

As fellow believers in making a difference and serving others while having fun, the women meet every second Thursday, encouraging one another’s individual and collective growth.

The group invited DistrictMail & Helderberg Gazette to share insights into the inner workings of the newspaper on Thursday 16 May.

The fellowship was established about 35 years ago and around the four pillars of Christian service or outreach, social, cultural and devotional. They welcome women of any age to join their ranks and call on locals to support the Somerset West church’s upcoming musical delight, A Wesleyan Hymn Festival, which will be held as part of its 190th-anniversary celebrations.

The event is directed by Bevan Sylvester and takes place at the church on Sunday 9 June at 15:00. Refreshments will be on sale.

  • Tickets, at R60 each, are available at the church office or by phoning Hurling on 082 331 0338.
