Helderberg Manor Retirement Village in Somerset West, a prestigious collection of houses and garden apartments, has officially opened its health-care centre managed by well-known industry leaders Medwell.

The newly launched 50 assisted living suites will be sold on a life-right basis, with suites varying from one bedroom with an en-suite bathroom to double bedrooms with an en-suite bathroom, lounge and kitchenette. It will offer all the benefits of living independently in the welcoming retirement community of Helderberg Manor while having help close at hand. Prices start at R1 185 000.
According to Ehlers, life right has many advantages. “There are no transfer duties, VAT or bond registration costs. Frail care packages offered by Medwell at Helderberg Manor include single rooms with shared bathrooms starting at R25 500, single rooms with en-suite bathrooms from R25 900 per month and shared rooms for couples from R18 000 per month. Cost for other services offered in the assisted living and independent units vary according to requirements and can be tailored to suit the client’s needs. Individuals not residing on the estate can also be accommodated at the care centre.
