Members of the Vincent Engel Shotokan Karate Dojo in Strand travelled to Rustenburg in the North West Province for three days of intensive training with Shihan Hiroyoshi Okazaki, a ninth dan chief instructor of the International Shotokan Karate Federation (ISKF) visiting from the USA.
Shihan Okazaki presented the international mastercamp, a technical karate training programme, on behalf of the ISKF during his visit to South Africa.
Pictured (from left) are Nahshon Swart, Tamia Essau, Shihan Hiroyoshi Okazaki and Vincent Engel. During the camp, Essau received her first dan black belt diploma following her successful grading at a previous event, while Swart achieved his junior black belt grading.
