Last Wednesday (1 March), Macassar police joined hands with members of the Mitchells Plain Economic Infrastructure Task Team and initiated an unlicensed second-hand dealers’ inspection operation in Macassar. During the joint operation officers arrested a woman for operating an unlicensed business in the community. She was later released on a fine of R5 000. Officers also arrested two men for possession of drugs and liquor, and another for possession of drugs (pictured) and illegal ammunition.

Macassar police officers seized two 9 mm pistols, six rounds of ammunition and an undisclosed amount of tik after raiding a well-known drug house in Salvo Park on Monday 27 February. The bust comes after officers followed-up on a tip-off and conducted a search of the premises. One suspect was arrested for the illegal possession of two firearms, ammunition and drugs.
