Lwandle police are calling on the community’s assistance to aid the manhunt launched following a double murder at the weekend.

Anyone with information that could aid in an arrest after the lifeless bodies of two men were found on Saturday night (12 October) is asked to come forward.

According to Sergeant Mthokozisi Gama, spokesperson for the Lwandle police, officers on duty followed-up on a complaint of fighting on the corner of Swaja and Nombula Street, at 23:47.

“On arrival the respondents found two male bodies lying in a pool of blood, with visible stab wounds. The body of a 22-year-old man was discovered on the scene where the alleged fighting had occurred, while the body of a 34-year-old man was found in the vicinity of the Siyanyanzela informal settlement. The motive for the killing is unknown at this stage. Police have opened a double murder case docket for investigation.”

The suspect(s) remain at large and anyone with information that could lead to an arrest is urged to contact Detective Sergeant Mfundo Soyiyo at the Lwandle Police Station on 021 845 2060.
