It’s three wins after five games for St George’s Rugby Club who celebrated a memorable win over the weekend when they toppled Hamlets Rugby Club by 24-21 in a Super League A fixture.

The Lulu Boys dominated the first half and drew first blood when Fabian Filander touched down in the 12th minute and Curtley Hendrikse converted. He kicked penalties in the 23rd and 38th minute to take the score to 13-0 in St Georges favour going into the break.

Hamlets came back strongly in the second half, scoring a converted try in the 44th minute (13-7), to which the Lulu Boys responded through a penalty kick in the 47th minute which Hendrikse slotted over the posts (16-7).

In the 55th minute Fazeel Robertson broke through the Hamlets defence to touch down (21-7) and in the 60th minute Hendrikse was called to action again when he kicked a penalty (24-7).

This spurred Hamlets to play more aggressively which paid off as they scored two converted tries to take the score to 24-21, but despite the late surge St George’s held on to secure the victory.. In Super League B, All Saints RFC secured a narrow 15-12 win over Langa to maintain their winning momentum. Two tries by Leshwin Love, a conversion by Dillon Scholtz and a penalty kick by Aiden Januarie was enough to secure the points.. Strand’s scorers included two tries by Dillon Moses and Riyaad Adams each, while Jerome Visagie converted one and kicked one penalty.. In the Northern League, Sir Lowrians overcame a tough Gordon’s Bay Pioneers team to snatch a 25–12 victory at the Naval Grounds.

Sir Lowrians scored two quick penalties in the opening minutes through Callen Arendse, before Tervin Brits touched down for a try.

Nigel Fredericks followed-up with a try of his own, which was converted by Randy Brinkhuis, and Denovan Cronje rounded up the try scoring for Sir Lowrians which was again converted by Brinkhuis.

Point scorers for Gordon’s Bay Pioneers were Charlton October and Bradley Williams who scored a try each, whilst one conversion was made by Luke Adendorf.. Strand United claimed the biggest victory over the weekend when they dominated Windmeul RFC to win 68–21.

Tries by Wesley Jospehs (2), Ikraam Daggia (2), Monier Davids, Roeshen Petersen (2), Zain Essa, and Jacoob Alexander, together with conversions by Ebrahim Pedro (5) and Muneeb Brinkhuis (1) were enough to sink their opponents.
