The second-year early childhood development class of Helderberg International School spent some time learning about different fruits and vegetables. Lily-Mia van Platen and her classmates found out more about the nutritional value of the fresh produce as well as where and how it grows. They also conducted a survey to find out which was the class’s favourite and least favourite fruit, with strawberry coming out the clear winner. Furthermore, they created delicious fruit faces and kebabs. The school’s Year 1 class has also been learning more about plants and how they grow, planting tomato and runner bean seeds and closely examining colours and shapes of sunflowers. They then got creative by drawing the brightly coloured flowers as a task.
