Wilmarie Kriel, a 36-year-old administrative manager, social-media account manager at Cosmetic Dental and content creator from Somerset West is now a semi-finalist in the prestigious Mrs South Africa 2025 competition.
Unapologetically herself, she is among remarkable women from all nine provinces who will soon join the upcoming Semi-final Showcase in the hope of taking another critical step closer to the coveted crown.
“Living the questions now, I step boldly into each moment, seizing every opportunity to discover my true potential. By engaging fully with life’s questions and uncertainties we open ourselves to growth, discovery and new possibilities.”

Mrs South Africa is far more than just a beauty pageant or modelling competition. It serves as a powerful platform for married women to embark on a life-changing experience, becoming voices for change while experiencing profound personal growth.
Beyond the style, sisterhood and excitement, the programme is, first and foremost, about self-development; changing one’s own life while actively working to assist and benefit those in need.
“This journey with Mrs South Africa has taught me that growth begins where comfort ends, pushing my limits with grace, courage and unwavering faith,” said Kriel.
“It has been one of growth, resilience and self-discovery. Once shy and afraid to share my voice, I faced challenges that tested my strength, particularly financial hurdles, but refused to let fear or circumstance define me. Instead, I chose to embrace every opportunity to push beyond my limits and trusting that growth comes from stepping into the unknown.
“What drew me to this programme was its power to transform, to empower women to stand boldly and speak authentically. Mrs South Africa has given me a platform to rise above my fears, to inspire others with my voice and to realise I am capable of so much more than I ever imagined. My goal now is to continue evolving, to serve as a beacon of courage and to use this journey to uplift and empower others to live their truths and seize their own opportunities.”
The Semi-final Showcase will take place at the Theatre of Marcellus, Emperor’s Palace in Kempton Park, Johannesburg at 20:00 on Friday 4 July. This glamorous event will culminate in the announcement of the top 30 finalists who will continue their quest for the crown.
“Each of our semi-finalists embodies the authenticity, courage and self-belief that Mrs South Africa represents,” said Joani Johnson, CEO of Mrs South Africa.
“These extraordinary women are already using their voices and influence to stand in solidarity with vulnerable groups, and I’m incredibly proud of the ways in which they’re playing an active role in uplifting others. That’s what Mrs South Africa is about; fulfilling your own true potential and influence as a changemaker.
“What has made this group of women so special is how they’ve embraced this opportunity to grow, develop, create lifelong memories, and join our unique sisterhood while making a meaningful difference in their communities.”
