A talented artist from Somerset West who recently pursued art full-time, ticked off another item on his bucket list when he gifted a pencil-drawn portrait of Cape Town Mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis to the politician himself. The 41-year-old sketch artist Fabriazo Langford studies people’s faces, looks at their features and then he sits down and sketches them using charcoal and pencils (“SW portraitist follows passion,” DistrictMail & Helderberg Gazette, 25 October). The handover, on Thursday 11 January, was a big dream come true for Langford. “I was somewhat nervous, but the Mayor has the unique ability to make people feel more comfortable,” he said.
