My family and I went to see the Formula E live on Saturday (25 February) and we were impressed by the city of Cape Town!
We had safely guarded parking for our car at the City Centre and the MyCity bus was within walking distance, taking us to the stadium. We really enjoyed it as a family together, and my children, aged five and nine, could paint and play at the Kids’ Corner at the E-Fest. Best of all was when we came back on the MyCity bus, and soon after we got off at the City Centre I realised I’d forgotten my handbag and my son’s painting on the bus.
I must say the buses were full of people, and there were thousands getting on and off, so my chances were very slim to get my handbag and all its contents back. I immediately went to an on-duty official for help and she could quickly tell me exactly what the bus number was. She communicated with the bus drivers and there was a police officer who, like an angel, picked up my bag. Thank you so much, Officer Dyantyi, everything in my bag was safe and sound! I wanted to give her cash as a thank you gift, but she kindly declined and said it was part of her job.
With thousands of people on the buses, God sent me an angel to protect my bag and all its belongings.
Although I have a few friends who emigrated, I can truly say I love our country and we are staying! Again, special thanks to Officer Dyantyi for keeping us safe.
