This group of learners of Helderberg High School explored nature and its beauty during a six-day hike through the Outeniqua mountains in March. The group was accompanied by teacher Andrew Mason, supervisors Dalene Smit and Wendy Gittins and parent Ian Kitney. Ready to leave the Rondebossie checkpoint (front left) are James Allsop, Jennifer Kitney, Gizelle Booysen, Jade Martin, Malcolm Humm, Marco Vorster and Daniël Grove (front). Apart from the enjoyment and respect of nature aspect of the outing, the hike also aimed to focus on fitness for the youths, who all provided positive feedback on their return.
