The Helderberg High School matric class participated in an outreach on Friday 19 July, when they spent the morning driving around the Somerset West area, mainly around Main and Sir Lowry’s Pass roads, distributing coffee and sandwiches to those spending the cold morning outside. “We got to see the happy faces of those who weren’t as fortunate as we are,” they stated. “It was definitely a learning experience and reminded us to appreciate what we often take for granted.” Pictured are some of the learners before heading out.

The Grade 11 class of Helderberg High School (above) also participated in an outreach, going to Morkel Cottage creche in Strand and handing sandwiches “made with love” as well as hot tea. “As we handed out the goods, we were all filled with a sense of joy, but also a lingering feeling of gratitude,” they stated. “Making a difference in our communities is something we always talked about and we finally put it into action.”
