The senior art and design, English literature and history learners and teachers of the Helderberg International School visited the Zeitz MOCAA gallery at the V&A Waterfront to view William Kentridge’s exhibition, Why Should I Hesitate: Putting Drawings To Work. For the group the guided tour provided a general, informative overview of the exhibition in a set time frame. It offers a wide survey of Kentridge’s work, including early works as well as newer pieces on view for the first time in South Africa. The exhibit covers more than 40 years of artistic production in drawing, stop-frame animation, video, prints, sculpture, tapestry and large-scale installation, and provided the learners with some excellent research and inspirational material as well as historical topics to debate and reflect on.Foto:
