The Animal Welfare Society (AWS) Helderberg is calling on the community to support an initiative aimed at housing township dogs in brand-new kennels.
Over recent months, staff and volunteers of the organisation have discovered the need for kennels in the Lwandle and Nomzamo areas. “We are in desperate need of kennels,” explained Clare Travers of AWS Helderberg. “There are many dogs that are well looked after and belong to families, but they have no shelter.”
AWS Helderberg has found a local man who makes medium-sized kennels as a means to support his family at R650 each. “He makes the kennels and delivers it to the new owner,” Travers said.
. Anyone willing to sponsor a kennel to a family in need is asked to WhatsApp Travers on 083 697 4759.
