With less than two months to go before the first ball is passed in the 2022 Six Gun Grill Hot Summer of Touch (HSOT) series, teams are encouraged register forms as spots rapidly fill up.

The beach touch rugby festival is excited to announce that, following a subdued tournament last year, there will be no limit on spectators on the eight events, which this year will include Macassar and Strand beaches.

“We have come through a very testing time these last two years, but it has made the tournament even more sought-after,” said tournament director Grahame Bobrow.

“The events will shape-up to be one of the best this season, with exciting sponsors that have come on board. As a tournament we are grateful to our sponsors, our headline Six Gun Grill, Urban Art Shoes, Coca-Cola (Peninsula Beverages), Rush Trampoline Park and Western Balls. These brands make it possible for us to deliver a top-notch product to the public.”

The Six Gun Grill HSOT series starts at Camps Bay Beach on Sunday 4 December and follows the coastline with events at Macassar (11 December), Strand (16 December), Kleinmond, Struisbaai and Stilbaai beaches followed by the final two events at Diaz Beach and Hartenbos in Mossel Bay on Wednesday 28 and Friday 30 December, respectively.

The HSOT series has been an ever-growing event since its inception in 2001. Beach touch rugby loving fanatics can look forward to seeing their favourite teams in action, with the country’s top eight beach touch rugby teams already confirming their participation.

These include defending champions Etson’s Warriors, The Forward Foundation, The Reds, The Amazing Galaxy Warriors, Team Composure, The Maori Kingz, The Samurai Liberty Webb Rebels and the Garden Route Saint – many are from the Helderberg.

Teams can register at https://hotsummeroftouch.co.za/. The action on the sand gets underway from as early as 09:00 on each event day with teams still being allowed to enter and register their teams on the day of the event from 07:15.
