More than 200 people gathered in the grounds of Strand Moslem Primary School at sunset on Sunday 17 April, when a mass iftaar or boeka took place. Iftaar is the time Muslims partake in a meal at the end of a fasting day. The mass boeka, the first since the pandemic, was a rousing experience and enjoyed by many. Another mass iftaar also took place the following Saturday (23 April) at Nurul Islam Mosque in Faure Street, Strand.
