Sir Lowry’s Pass and Strand fire stations are two of 18 City of Cape Town facilities open to the public in celebration of International Firefighters’ Day today (Wednesday 4 May).
The initiative aims to give residents an opportunity to learn more about the City’s Fire and Rescue Service and the work it diligently conducts. It will also see the municipality commend the 40 seasonal firefighters and all permanent staff in the service.
The fire stations, which will be open to the public from 11:00 to 18:00, are Atlantis, Belhar, Bellville, Epping, Goodwood, Gugulethu, Khayelitsha, Kommetjie Road, Kuils River, Lakeside, Milnerton, Mitchells Plain, Ottery, Roeland Street, Salt River, Sir Lowry’s Pass, Strand and Wynberg.
