The Post Office House in Sir Lowry’s Pass celebrated its transformation with a festive picnic on Thursday (28 November). The event marked the opening of the refurbished 120-year-old building, which has been converted from a former police station and post office into a dynamic community hub promoting education, security, and collaboration. Spearheaded by the Village Collaboration, the launch event featured lively activities, including performances by the local soccer team and Sir Lowry’s Pass Primary School’s u-13 rugby team and drum majorettes. Ward 84 councillor Norman McFarlane praised the initiative, highlighting the vital role of community support in maintaining the building’s mission. While interior renovations are complete, further funding is needed for exterior work. Those interested in contributing can contact Marida Flack on 071 106 2247.
