The Macassar Shotokan Karate Club, a local community organisation dedicated to promoting the martial art of Shotokan Karate, has announced an upcoming tournament scheduled for Saturday 28 October and are seeking support to help make it a success.
“Shotokan Karate is not just a sport but a way of life that teaches discipline, respect and perseverance to our members who range from children to adults,” said Kelly Gertze, owner of the club. “Our club has been a pillar of the Macassar community for 32 years, providing a safe and nurturing environment for individuals to develop physically and mentally, and added that tournaments play a crucial role in the growth and development of their members.
“Competitions offer a platform to showcase skills, gain valuable experience and foster a sense of camaraderie. Tournaments are an integral part of our training programme and help raise the level of karate in our community.”
Gertse said that as a community-based club it relies heavily on the support of local businesses and individuals to make these events possible. “That’s why we are reaching out to you, seeking your assistance in sponsoring our upcoming tournament. Your generous contribution will not only help us cover the necessary expenses, but also enable us to provide scholarships to underprivileged children who wish to join our club and benefit from the discipline and values that karate instills.
“Any support you can offer, whether financial or in-kind, will be greatly appreciated,” said Gertse. “We would be delighted to discuss the various sponsorship options available and how your contribution can make a meaningful impact on our tournament”.
