Helderberg Pirates delivered a powerful and disciplined performance at Radloff Park on Saturday (4 October), securing a comprehensive 29-1 victory over Westridge Yankees in a spirited local baseball showdown.

Despite the lopsided score, the day was marked by infectious enthusiasm and high sportsmanship, particularly from the underdog Yankees.

Pirates showcased their experience and cohesion right from the start. Their offense was clinical, as the managed to rack up all 29 runs without recording a single strikeout against them. The impressive statistic highlights the team’s sharp eye for pitches and consistent discipline at the plate.

Anchoring Pirates’ commanding defense and leadership was Ethan Burgess, who was named man of the match. He delivered a stellar performance behind the plate, his composure and defensive prowess guiding his team with precision and keeping Yankees’ sporadic attacks firmly at bay.

Westridge Yankees, while suffering the heavy defeat, were celebrated for their commitment and heart.
