The Rivertones will bring their reggae flair to The Drama Factory on Sunday 8 December.

A reggae revolution is heading for The Drama Factory, with popular Cape reggae band, The Rivertones, performing the music of Bob Marley, UB40 and Eddie Grant in Reggae Night.

The band, founded by lead vocalist Roland Geoffrey Nair in 2006, had the honour of supporting Ali Campbell’s UB40 during their South African tour last year.

Reggae music, a treasured cultural export from Jamaica, has served as a unifying force among diverse cultural groups in Cape Town, with The Rivertones at the forefront of this movement. The global popularity of reggae has allowed it to reach audiences worldwide.

Reggae Night features Bob Marley reggae classics such as “One Love”, “Is This Love” and “No Woman No Cry”, while The Rivertones will also deliver popular UB40 hits such as “Kingston Town”, “Red Red Wine” and “Can’t Help Falling In Love.” Also get ready to jam to Eddy Grant hits such as “Electric Avenue”, “I Don’t Wanna Dance”, “Do You Feel My Love”, “Hope Jo’anna” and many more.

The show will bring good vibes to the Strand venue at 16:00 on Sunday 8 December. Tickets cost R200 (standard) and R180 (pensioners and scholars), and can be booked online at www.thedramafactory.co.za. For more information contact The Drama Factory on 073 215 2290.
