The Sanlam Cape Town Marathon has announced it will, for the second year running, be giving away 2 000 free marathon entries to those who cannot afford an entry for this year’s event.

This is done to promote the power of unity and inclusivity in running communities as there are many financial challenges for many runners in South Africa. By offering these 2 000 free entries, the Sanlam Cape Town Marathon aims to break down the barriers that may prevent dedicated athletes from participating in this incredible event.

If you cannot afford to enter this year’s marathon, yet meet the application criteria, you are urged to apply. With just under five months to go, excitement is building for the 2024 Sanlam Cape Town Marathon, and the Club & Crew Captains are stepping up to ensure everyone is ready for the challenge ahead.

Entries are now open for the Sanlam Cape Town Marathon, which takes place on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 October.
