Zameka Mfubesi (centre), principal of Umyeso Wama Apile High School in Grabouw, was one of 18 school principals from across the province to receive a certificate of completion from Dr Elanca Shelley from UCT and Capitec CEO Gerrie Fourie at a ceremony at UCT’s Graduate School of Business last week. The institution offered the Management Development Programme in partnership with the Principals’ Academy Trust and other corporates for the seventh consecutive year. The programme provides much needed support and input to school principals at under-resourced areas and is run during school holidays. Modules strengthen leadership capabilities through systems thinking, personal mastery and financial management. The Principals’ Academy Trust provides regular mentoring by retired principals for the programme participants at their schools for a minimum of three years.
