Gordon’s Bay centenarian Emily Christian celebrated her 100th birthday with a special gathering of family and friends on Tuesday 6 October.

Emily is lovingly referred to as the heart of the family and a woman who exudes love. Her life story spans a century of resilience; she married her husband in 1946, raised a family and worked as a saleswoman until age 65. Emily treasures the simple joys of life, like weekly rosary gatherings at church, and keeps her mind sharp with books and puzzles. Her recipe for reaching 100 is characteristically straightforward: keep busy, keep active, keep your mind active.
