The Year 3 learners of the Helderberg International School have been learning about religious holidays, with the Hindu celebration Diwali first on the list. The children enjoyed practising the art of making rangoli with coloured rice while developing their fine motor skills. Rangoli is an art form originating in the subcontinent, in which patterns are created on the floor or the ground using quartz powder materials such as coloured rice, coloured sand or flower petals. It is usually made during Diwali and other festivals.Foto:
