Locals looking for adventure are invited to take on the Virgin Active Warrior Race Conquer for a Cause, in which participants can tough-out challenging obstacle courses, not just for personal achievement but also for a cause they are passionate about.
Helderbergers are called to sign up for the country’s largest obstacle-course racing series in aid of Heartlands Baby Sanctuary, a temporary residential safe care facility that cares for 25 children at any given time and provides holistic care for orphaned and vulnerable children from birth to six years of age, at Devonbosch on Saturday 6 April.
Gear up to champion a challenge, get dirty and overcome fears in a show of true courage, camaraderie and sportsmanship.
Eager or interested participants can raise funds for the Somerset West facility on their own or as part of a team. Simply sign up for one of the following categories: Rookie, which boasts 15 obstacles and two water points in 5 km, all at the cost of R475, Commando, which entails 22 obstacles and four water points in 10 km at R580, and Black Ops, which has 30 obstacles and six waterpoints in 15 km at R670.
There is also a category for children between ages 4 and 8, which comprises a 1 km obstacle at R130.
Spectators are welcomes at R40.
Heartlands will issue participants with a unique code to fundraise on the Conquer for a Cause website, once payment has been received by Heartlands for entries no later than Friday 29 March.
Entrants must use the word “conquer” and their email address as reference. For more, email nikki@heartlandsbaby.org.
