The annual Harbour2Harbour (H2H) swim event, now hosted in May as opposed to October owing to weather constraints, proved a great decision, as a record turnout of 350 swimmers entered the various categories available at Harbour Island in Gordon’s Bay on Sunday (19 May). A carnival mood of excitement filled the air, largely thanks to a performance by a Cape Minstrel band, which motivated swimmers and put them at ease. Smooth seas and open skies mean that all the scheduled races started as scheduled, a 3 km, 1,6 km and a 4×400 m relay swim. Plenty of hand-outs took place on the day, including goody bags, swimming caps, prizes and much more. The event is organised by Fluidlines, with KFC as the main sponsor.
