The Rusthof Safe & Clean Forum was launched on Youth Day (Thursday 16 June) at a special event, an opportunity to explain its mission and purpose, which includes matters relating to improved municipal service delivery, prevention of illegal dumping as well as a focus on the betterment of the elderly, aside from the youth. The event kicked off with the Dr GJ Joubert Drum Majorettes parading through the streets from their school to Rusthof Primary, where they finished off with a display. Joining guests at the launch was Subcouncil 8 Municipal Manager Erika Williams, Ward 85 Councillor Chantal Cerfontein, Gerdia Viljoen of the Greenways Golf Estate, who donated green bins, Andrew and Vida Arnolds of the City of Light Project, Zelma Stewart, who donated a pot of soup, and Nabiweya Gabier, who donated koeksisters, which were distributed among the children there.
